Introduction:

As spiritual students we all have questions that arise while on our path.

Join Dr. Hawkins on this Satsang Series Jul 2006 cd set as he delves into those questions asked by sincere attendees from around the world, but pertinent to us all.

With humor, compassion, and honesty, he gives us words of wisdom and grace that sets our hearts at ease.

“I look forward to these Wednesday nights; they are very dear to me. I can be with all the people I love and just chatter away and be what I am. It’s joyful. And that’s why I say, ’Gloria in Excelsis Deo!’ Thank you, O God, for these wonderful, wonderful, people. Amen. God bless you all.” –Dr. Hawkins

The Essence of the Questions…

What is it about the ego that wants to cling to misery, rather than being here in the joy of this moment?

Is there an individuated consciousness or soul that remains after the death of the ego, or is that just a dualistic concept?

When you mention that Archangels calibrate at 50,000, are you still speaking of an individuated being?

When you teach, “be the field,” is it the infinite field, or is it the field we are aspiring to become?

What is our responsibility toward the future generations in this lifetime?  Do we have one?

In Transcending the Levels of Consciousness you quoted, “You can only go as high as you can go low.”  Could you explain that?

Is there integrity in the grief we experience when someone dies?

Would do you an “Om” for us?

Is the “dark night of the soul” a belief system of Christianity, and to then go there?

How can I learn to live within context?

Two people are in an intimate relationship and one is clean, the other is ingesting drugs and alcohol.  What is the effect on the person not taking the drugs in being with the one who is?

To you and Susan.  What kind of care is required when a person moves into the space of Enlightenment?

Can a person surrender unconscious negativities without having them come up in the present?

Could a very deep act of surrender wipe out the unconscious?

Is it a good idea to create a self to replace the self that is dissolving as we are working on ourselves?

A friend has a dual personality disorder that occasionally drops in.

Can he purge this entity without outside help?  Would you help him?

How do you transcend Karma altogether?  The good and bad?

If I want to help somebody, or have the urge to help, when do I know if it’s my ego wanting to get a kick out of it, or if it has a true purpose.

How much does education play into self-awareness?

I’ve been working on Kinesiology and all is going great, but recently I started working on self-testing and the results are poor.  Can you help?

Jesus says, “As you believe, so shall it be done.” How does that work?

Can you help me with my fear?

Is the personal will just a part of the ego? Does it disappear when the ego disappears?

I’d like to ask you about how I used to ask God for guidance on things. Now I just say, “Take care of this.”

There is no difference between big and little questions, is there?

Some Teachers say they take on their students’ Karma.  Is that true?

What was Muktananda doing when he threw those hats out?

Could you speak on relative truth vs. relative values?  The absolute vs. the relative?

Are love, truth, and kindness absolute?

When we die, we cycle back to a group, as I read, a certain pod, of people?  Is this true?

I’m more afraid of the physical pain of dying, not the act of leaving the body.  Can you speak about that?

I asked to be aligned with my higher purpose, and my life changed radically.  How much determination and faith do I put into this?

I’ve been listening to “Giving up Illness” and working on “What you hold in mind tends to manifest,” but I need help.

What’s the truth about angelic interaction with human life?  Are the angels the deliverers of Divine intervention?  When we pray, is it possible to summon up their help or should we just leave it up to God?

I recently made some positive changes in my life, and it’s brought up some major negativity.

Could you help me understand this?

Does spiritual commitment tend to bring on an entire spiritual program?

I have a great fear of dying.  Can you help me with this?

Can you help me understand why I get goose bumps and a burning effect when I speak of certain things?

Would you test Ken Wilbur, and when you are testing, is it the ego, or are you testing the Higher Self?

Can you speak on forgiving one’s self?  I’m having a hard time with that one.

All this talk of surrender and I have certain passions I want to fulfill…

Is achieving inner silence essential for Enlightenment, or are there other ways?

I was a Buddhist; then I got into a 12-step program.  When I leave this body, whose gonna meet me?

It’s taken me so long to find my Teacher in this lifetime, it seems a shame to just go on and die right now.

“Ask anything but the hypothetical. We don’t answer hypothetical questions because they are not real...” –Dr. Hawkins

The Essence of the Questions...

•    About Ramana Maharshi
•    My spiritual past took me through the astral path - is it okay to do the Medium work?
•    I felt one with everything.  I couldn’t move.  What just happened?
•    Is there any special frame of mind you need to have to do Kinesiology?
•    In the Course in Miracles, it seems to be saying, “All physicality is an illusion and was made as an attack on God by the ego.”
•    Fallen Gurus. Does it happen because of temptation or demonic entities?
•    The transition from 500 to 600 – do you go through fear?
•    I had a mystical experience and realize that all there is is God, all there is is love..., and all is seamless and true. Was that authentic and true? Is involution and evolution a true way of stating what’s happening?
•    What goes on with our consciousness in our mind when our physical body is asleep, and what’s the relationship between them?
•    What is your thought about having a Devotional Nonduality Monetary system?
•    Could you define the word God for us?
•    What happens to us when our body dies?
•    There are times I feel very spiritually connected, and then I feel empty.  Is it better to pray during those times?
•    I’m a woman now; have I ever been a man in another life?
•    Is there a time where I won’t care whether I die, whether I exist?
•    Isn’t surrender the best medicine?
•    Do you equate the experiences the Apostles had after Christ’s passing as Enlightenment?
•    A doctor asks about giving patients prescriptions, doing the Course in Miracles, and wants to know if she is reinforcing the collective unconsciousness of the side effects of the drug. The good and the bad.
•    You mentioned in a previous lecture you would pray for your patients.  Could you share with us how you would pray?
•    You said that Jesus Christ came exactly from Heaven and had no previous lives.  And that he was at 1,000.  Was he born at 1,000, because he had to go through the temptation at 850?

Satsang Series #2: March 15, 2006

(Held at the Sedona Creative Life Center in Sedona, Arizona)

Running time: 1 Hour and 59 Minutes

“Anything that is less than integrous and loving you find increasingly painful as you progress spiritually.”

The Essence of the Questions...

o    Would you explain the difference between experiencing the Void and Enlightenment?
o    Can you make a distinction between true intention and the human will?
o    Is there a way to do Kinesiology by yourself?
o    Is the Map of Consciousness likened to a ray of light?
o    You sometimes talk of this white light or the golden light like in the snow bank experience.  What is this thing?
o    I’m very interested in orthomolecular science.  My copper toxicity was blocking my connection to spirit.  Could this type of thing be a major block for most other people?
o    In Truth vs. Falsehood, you choose to calibrate some teachers over others.  Could you tell why?
o    Does creation take place from the top down?
o    How can I be one with God and be an amoeba?
o    How do you love unconditionally and still take care of yourself?
o    Is loving unconditionally the same as turning the other cheek?
o    How does one best break through paradigm allegiance?
o    Is there another paradigm shift from 500 to 600?
o    Do you have any ideas on automating the process of calibration?
o    Is it possible to have discernment about information that is of a higher calibration level than oneself?
o    Can you actually put information that calibrates at 999 into words?  Is that the limit of written information?
o    How do you develop discernment?
o    What does surrendering to God mean?
o    Once Enlightenment comes upon someone, are there still dedication and devotion?
o    How can one undo stacks of negative karma in this lifetime?  And is it many lifetimes we have to undo?
o    Is forgiveness also a way of letting illness and karma go?
o    If Consciousness is God, the Manifest, and then the Manifest chooses to experience physical life, does it begin as an amoeba until it becomes enlightened again?
o    I’m having trouble surrendering what’s going on with my daughter.
o    You’ve mentioned that the levels of the 500s can be reached through intense devotion, even if it’s towards erroneous teachers and teachings.  What is the correlation between the level of consciousness and the ability to recognize Truth?
o    After going through a lot, how does one keep their eye on the compass?
o    When the experiencer, the ego, comes in and takes credit, it happens so fast, it’s 1/10,000th of a second?  How do you go beyond that?
o    What is the relationship between the field of context and the field of consciousness?
o    Would you speak to the ego illusion of “knowingness” and talk about how important it is to realize that “we don’t know”?
o    Do you have to go back and discover or relive your past lives?
o    Do you have to hit rock bottom to make spiritual progress?
o    I’ve taken to sleeping with one of your books under my pillow.  Is there any karmic benefit to that?
o    You commented one time that Christ took the sin of the world onto His shoulders.  What does that mean?
o    Could you speak to us a little more about what surrender means and what is involved in the process of surrender?
o    Why are we, here in this audience, so karmically advantaged listening to you, and the rest of the planet calibrates below 200?
o    Could you speak to the idea that I’ve noticed a flatness where there once was emotion?
o    I’m a critical care nurse.  I’m fed up with trauma but I have to pay my bills.  Should I move on?
o    What are the conditions that brought about the Stigmata?
o    Is death a memory pattern in the DNA?
o    Would it be possible to prolong one lifetime as opposed to going through multiple incarnations?

Satsang Series #3: May 10, 2006

(Held at the Sedona Creative Life Center in Sedona, Arizona)

Running time: 1 Hour and 50 Minutes

“What a great gift we are to each other. I look around the room, I realize every one of you is a gift; you know, every one of us is a blessing. We’re all a blessing to each other. What a tremendously, powerful group it is, a really, really, really powerful group. So we’re all thankful for each other and thankful for everyone here.” –Dr. Hawkins

The Essence of the Questions...

•    I experienced Satori.  In your book, “I” you said that, “after experiencing Satori, the ego’s days are numbered.”  I was wondering if you know how many more days I have left?
•    I grew up in the Midwest and hunting was a way of life.  Have I incurred any negative Karma as a result of that killing?
•    How can I find the words to describe how it feels to have the unity and not the separateness when I pray?
•    Would you describe how you can merge contemplation with surrender to God?
•    Can a person heal unconscious guilt without identifying every one of them?
•    I’m thinking of doing psychoanalysis, but I’d rather be out hiking.  What do you think?
•    In canceling illness, is it true that I may or may not get rid of the illness?
•    My inner conflict has to do with the pathway of negation because it even negates beauty, kindness, and reverence.
•    Could you speak on “sackcloth and ashes,” the pathway of penance?
•    At the last lecture you said, “Enlightenment is dropping the sense of self as the determinate of actions.”  Could you speak on dropping the “self””
•    How can I study and learn from your teachings without developing a belief system or an attachment to them?
•    I’m so grateful and my gratitude overflowed into this basket and I was wondering, would you receive it?
•    We come into this life with a purpose and then we forget what it was.  How can I know if I’m living God’s will or mine?
•    When you say “we have our hands on the rudder,” could you help me discern the difference between the powerlessness that the 12-step program talks about,; however, we have responsibility with God’s help?
•    The Bible said that, “Christ rose again on the third day.”  Is that right?  Was it his actual physical body that rose up from the dead?
•    Have you ever seen etheric bodies?
•    Would you read the 91st Psalm from the Lamsa Bible?
•    When you’ve talked about contemplation and focusing on the context, what do you exactly mean by the context?
•    I know about surrendering things to God, and then I see a pile of dishes in the sink, and I know they (unfortunately) need to get done....He speaks about stewardship
•    Is One the Allness?
•    After you read the 91st Psalm. . . my husband has been studying it.  It was a very special moment for us...
•    I’m  part of a 12-step program.  Is a mentor the same as a Teacher?
•    I’m beginning to suspect that whatever I think I see in other people is just a projection from my ego?
•    I know that a very high Teacher has a frequency that they transmit to the aura of the student.  Is that frequency transferable through books and tapes as well?
•    I am so grateful to have found you as a Teacher.
•    I’m reading a book by Monroe about out-of-body travel.  You said not to seek out the Siddhis.  Does this fall under that action?
•    What practice can be used to get beyond the Void?
•    All experience comes out of resistance.  When you ponder this statement, is it a quality of Divinity that we search for, or is it something other than a quality?
•    My question is about perception.  I’ve realized I am to only see beauty and love?
•    The pull to use my professional gifts, which require me to stay in the “big city,” and then desire for a simpler life confuses me  Is it not abdicating ones responsibility to move to a smaller town?
•    What is the efficacy or the usefulness of using objects or/or implements to help with prayer and devotion?
•    My question is about being conscious and being unconscious.  Right now, the deepest self I can identify with is being aware.  And it’s like a screen that comes on and off in it’s own time.  Is that “screen” in the field of witnessing or in the field of consciousness?
•    Is there anything that can be done for someone whose consciousness has been taken over by lower astral entities?
•    During my dream state I had a force holding me in place.  Could you help me understand what happened?
•    Can human consciousness go beyond 1,000?
•    How is it possible for the Void, being devoid of Divinity and Love, to calibrate so high?
•    You calibrated the word or concept of Sufism at about 700.  Why didn’t you calibrate the saints or locations as well?
•    Are you saying that you don’t calibrate aspects of the various forms of spirituality unless you’ve experienced some of them?
•    I’m writing about people in history.  Is their energy still present in the universe and is it possible to connect with whatever their energy is as I’m writing about them?
•    Can an atheist calibrate above 200?

Running time: 2 Hour and 5 Minutes

“The greatest way to uplift people is by virtue of that which you yourself have become. By virtue of your presence, they are already uplifted and relieved. And you can see it in their eyes because suddenly the Self in them shines forth to the Self in you, and you know you connected, forever actually, it’s forever...” –Dr. David Hawkins

The Essence of the Questions...

•    At the time of our birth, our death is recorded?  Is this a calendar date or is it related to the purpose of our incarnation?
•    Sometimes married couples can’t do calibrations together.  Can you explain this?
•    Could you explain your understanding of grace, including the impact of grace on Karma?
•    I spent 10 years supporting the work of a teacher that calibrates below 200.  My question is about culpability and accountability.  What does accountability mean in my case?
•    I’ve been going to Al-Anon for a couple of years and now my son, who was doing better, slipped again. I felt myself weakening and wanted to help bail him out, but through your words, I didn’t. I just need to hear you talk about it again, because it really gets me through.
•    I arrived here Monday and expected it to be just so lovely. Then I got angry at my traveling partner and ended up cussing at her like a sailor.  It surprised me, and I don’t like that part of me.
•    Does identifying yourself, over and over, as an alcoholic in AA meetings, without stipulating that you’re in recovery, have any affect in the quantum world?
•    Right now I’m doing a writing project that brings me great joy.  However, I’m worried that I’m not saving enough for retirement.  I wanted to get your opinion on that.
•    I’m compelled to come to these classes and lectures.  I feel very attached to you and this group.  Is this something I need to be concerned about?
•    What is an angel, and what is an archangel that calibrates at 50,000?
•    My life has changed in so many ways since coming in contact with you and your teachings.  I’ve been doing a lot of K testing (Kinesiology) and I’ve been getting yes to a lot of big questions.  Could you also check them for me?
•    I’ve been doing a lot of surrendering, and I’ve noticed that when I have a lot of things coming up, I have nightmares.
•    You’ve talked about how emotions pile up in stacks over many lifetimes.  Does resistance to God, to growing and changing, stack up over many lifetimes, and does it need to be released through venting and letting it out?
•    When a stack comes to the surface, does it need to be processed out?
•    How does living in a country that calibrates below integrity impact me?  How much of a deterrent is it?
•    You talk a lot about surrendering emotions and ultimately surrendering to God.  Can you talk a little bit about the practice of surrendering emotions and circumstances?
•    I love you, and second of all, sometimes I get confused when I’m acting from my ego, and when something is true and in integrity. Sometimes the line between actually loving something or being attached to it with my ego is, well, how do you tell the difference?
•    I have a question about the illusions of our mind and ego.  You said that when we try to think through the problem or try to create a solution, that this is actually the illusion... when we try to create or think through the solutions.  Can you please explain why it is an illusion?
•    What about daily opinions?  You are saying that opinions and thoughts are worthless.  How can we go about in daily life and still live with the belief that opinions are worthless?
•    There is a great deal of sadness, isolation, and detachment from other people in my spiritual growth.  In this context, the journey becomes very lonely and arduous. Would you speak to that?
•    I have difficulty when others want to sign me up for “their trip.” How do I say no in a loving way? I have a sense of entrapment. As a healer, with a practice, I know that I can’t fix others.  I say, “I can help you help yourself, but I can’t fix you.”   As soon as I speak some spiritual truth that will promote healing, they are out the door.  They don’t really want that.  They want a pat on the back more than genuine healing.
•    I have a question of fate and freedom of choice, free will and our highest purpose. I have a feeling there is the path of highest purpose, and I have the choice to wander off that path.  I’m at a point where I’m tired of going over the cliff or wandering into the brambles. So my understanding is through acceptance and surrender and accepting where you are. Is that a way to stay closer to the path?
•    You said the dream state was oblivion.  What is oblivion?
•    You talk about different pathways, of the heart, of the mind, of devotion?  Is it our Karmic propensity that chooses which one we’re on?
•    You say, “Waste no time, walk the razors edge.”  So is reading Freud and Jung a waste of time?
•    Sometimes I want to chop my head off and be all heart.
•    What can we do collectively and individually to heal the planet and reverse global warming?
•    Are the elections in this country manipulated by the people in power?
•    Is the Holy Spirit a permanent indwelling? Is it always present?
•    Do you have a technique for someone who has an overeating disorder that’s induced by stress?
•    Could you calibrate the room and does that include you, Dr. Hawkins?
•    Does one ever complete a Karmic cycle, or do we go on forever?  Do we become angels? And does consciousness go on forever?
•    I’m filled with love and hostility. Could you talk about how to “run out a stack”?
•    Can a Teacher or a person have a charka that might have gone over 600 and others that did not?
•    In a devotional state, I was looking into the eyes of a being that I consider to be over 600, and this fleeting thought came into my mind that I had regressed on my path.  Could you tell me how to look at this?
•    I would really like to move into a high state of Unconditional Love.  I would like your advice, to me personally, how to become that.
•    My question is about worldly dreams, success, and setting goals, and where they fit in with spirituality?
•    One of my gifts is in sales.  Recently I received some training that seems to be appealing to some lower qualities of people to give them the incentive to buy.  Sometimes during the day when I am working, I get intense, frustrated and focused.  Any help here?
•    I’m programmed with your saying, “M&M” & “pig nose.”  When I screamed at that lady today, she yelled back at me, “You’ll always have problems!”  Am I now programmed with her statement?
•    You said our death is predetermined?  That seems to imply that we’ve agreed to take this journey.  So, we generally all have the potential for enlightenment?  I got the sense that this world is perfect, and I can stop worrying and enjoy the trip, yes?
•    Four years ago I lost my father, and then five months after that, I lost my only son.  I have tried to surrender, and I do at times, and then as a mother, I take it back, and then give it back to God again.  I’ve been in therapy for three years now, and I’m tired of it.  I can’t let my son go.  How do I?

(Held at the Sedona Creative Life Center in Sedona, Arizona)

Running time: 1 Hour and 50 Minutes

New people join Dr. Hawkins as he answers many clinical questions. He shares his intuitive sensitivity and shows how it’s not linear, how for the professional exam a person will need the linear, but clinically, a person will need the non-linear. That as time goes on a healer becomes more of an intuit. The ability becomes more about the art than the science.

The Essence of the Questions...

•    Usually it’s hard to speak. Right now it’s not hard to speak. Right now it [my voice] is working real nicely.”
•    Your spiritual research has determined that the time of death is set. I’m wondering how suicide fits into that?
•    What could I say or do that is compassionate to help a person pass through the process of physical death?
•    Karma Yoga is the love that is being expressed through the Divine energy field? That’s what’s being passed one to another?
•    How do I make an intention come about?
•    I was wondering if you could help me with depression.
•    I’m doing an internship in psychotherapy; how can I understand what I’m doing in a non-linear context?
•    Can you talk about how a spiritual student might make the most of seeing a psychiatrist?
•    Step five in AA is “confess your shortcomings.”  Is it OK to just lay it all out?
•    Can you elaborate on the “final run” and staying on the “razor’s edge”?
•    When I used to witness my thoughts they seemed to slow down after awhile, and now it seems like they have sped up.
•    You talked about surgery without painkillers and through surrendering, you made it through.  Will that technique work for headaches?
•    How do we become more aware of our obstacles?
•    What would be there if we never came into existence?
•    How are members of a family chosen to be together?
•    If you want to use your life to develop enlightenment, is it better not to have children?
•    At what level in the human domain does the love for God become unending?
•    Can you help me with my attachment to sexual pleasure?
•    Is there any benefit to choosing a particular devotional act or service on the path of devotion?
•    I’m a professional musician, and people tell me that my music makes them feel great. Is there some deeper insight into that phenomenon or is there a clinical approach to it?
•    How do you know when it’s time to let go of a relationship?
•    The lovingness I feel from you is so overpowering.  When you walk in, I can’t tell whether the love is inside myself or outside of myself.
•    I’ve been trying to take your advice about pain, so I’m not labeling my headaches, and actually they are not headaches anymore.  Am I on the right track?
•    When Ramana Maharshi’s devotees were worried about his dying, he said, “Well, where would I go?”  Is his presence still there?
•    What will our relationship be to you, Dr. Hawkins, when you are no longer in the body?
•    If anyone in this room thought they had some sort of illness, how would they rectify it?
•    In terms of preventive medicine, is there some daily thought process that could be used?
•    I have no interest in being a psychotherapist anymore.  My desire is to peruse the spiritual more.  Is that the future energy pulling me forward or do I have a karmic responsibility to continue as a psychotherapist?
•    What about people who are bi-polar who get on and off their medication?  Is it possible for some of these people to just “overcome” and change without their medication?
•    What is the juice of boredom?
•    When the average person passes on, do they get what this life was about?
•    Are people below 200 aware of death?
•    All my life I have had a feeling of being undeserving of love and goodness.  Did I do something terribly wrong?
•    As a child I would go into nature to get away from angry people.  I’ve continued this practice even though there aren’t that many angry people around.  Is this a possible pathology about fear of people?
•    I have been doing the watcher/witness thing, and now I see the ego’s addiction.  It really juices anxiety. Do I need to find out where this is coming from?
•    I’ve run into a block, which is if I give up control of the future, I won’t be taken care of.  I keep surrendering it, and it doesn’t go away.
•    I caught stickiness around causality.  Do you have spiritual “goo gone” to melt that stickiness away?
•    I don’t have a strong drive of what I want to do. Can you help me with this?
•    I have a strong polarity between getting involved, taking action, correcting, and speaking out as opposed to being still, contemplative, taking the higher path, surrendering to God.  Can you speak to this intenseness of polarities?
•    Is there any dichotomy between the different yogas?
